My top 5 ‘take it all in’ moments at Disney World

There are so many excellent moments in any Disney holiday. So many in fact it was actually quite hard to narrow down my top 5 moments.  My favourite moment of all (Which isn’t actually a Disney moment at all which is why it wont feature below) is when I first step out of the airport into the Florida air and get that first faint smell of oranges and humidity….ahhhhh bliss.

Anyway, without further ado… here’s my top 5.

1. The minute I step into the monorail and ferry ports at the Transportation and Ticket Centre.

Not because the gates to the kingdom are right there but because it’s here you really start to see the amazement and wonder in people’s eyes. The anticipation… the magic seeping in. Especially at rope drop before the crowds.

2. Outside the character meet and greets.

How cute are those little girls and boys who have just met a real life princess or Mickey or Buzz?!? In that moment you can truly see that is the best moment of their little lives.

3. Sharing a Mickey ice cream or pretzel with my son.

I don’t know what it is about seeing his cheeky little face stealing my ice cream or Mickey pretzel and having to basically bargain or wrestle him to have some that fills me with so much joy but it really is a highlight for me.

4. At the end of the day.

When you see all the little kids draped over their dads shoulders asleep, crashed out after a great day or the peaceful faces conked out in strollers or trying desperately to stay awake not to miss anything. Pure innocence and perfection. Walt’s dream on every one of their faces. And that’s just the kids! If you get the chance, take a look at some of the adults… you notice pretty quickly that look of innocence and contentment with them too.

5. My last day in the parks.

Particularly at my last fireworks show at the magic kingdom. That bittersweet moment of loving it right then in that moment, watching the rockets shoot up and erupt into a thousands stars and making a wish on each and every one; but also feeling sad that it’s the last time I’ll do it for a while.

I don’t actually have a ‘I took it’ picture of this as I never want to spoil the moment by taking photos but I think this Disney Web pic will give you a fair idea.

Fireworks

Come on guys, you have to admit seeing a giant firework Mickey head to end your holiday is pretty darn magical.

What are you’re top 5? Tell me in the comments.

Love your top 5! One of mine is definitely getting to eat a mickey-shaped icecream bar because where else can you get food this cute 🙂 Another one of my favorite moments is when we discover something new about Disney World that makes us fall more in love with the park (i.e. Pirates Adventure quest, Disney Sorcerers, etc.)
